US stocks meandered with a lack of direction Friday after Thursday’s rebound. The major averages spent much of the day gyrated around the unchanged line before ending the session mixed. The Dow Jones industrials were up 0.5 percent and the S&P added 0.2 percent. But the Nasdaq retreated 0.2 percent. For the week, the major averages all posted steep losses. The Dow sank 2.2 percent, the Nasdaq tumbled 2.1 percent and the S&P slumped 1.6 percent. Traders seemed reluctant to make more significant moves amid lingering uncertainty about the global economic outlook and renewed anxiety about Brexit.
US stocks recovered from an early slide Thursday and in the process broke a five-day losing streak. Gains in technology companies, banks and industrial stocks outweighed losses among big retailers, homebuilders and utilities. Energy stocks rose along with crude oil. European indexes finished mostly lower as the British pound slumped amid discord over a new deal for Britain's departure from the European Union next spring. The Dow Jones industrials were up 0.8 percent, the S&P added 1.1 percent and the Nasdaq soared 1.7 percent.

All fund prices quoted are calculated as at the latest valuation date. The performance information (%) in the chart and table may have slight variances due to factors such as rounding, or charting methodology used.

Calculation of performance is based on the NAV-to-NAV for the stated period, with dividend reinvested, in denominated currency. These figures show by how much the share class increased or decreased in value during the stated period. Where no past performance is shown there was insufficient data available in that period to calculate performance.

Performance has been calculated in the “Denominated currency” set out in the “About this fund” section in the “Fund details” tab, including ongoing charges and excluding subscription fee and redemption fee you may have to pay.

Payments of dividends out of capital will only be made to seek to maintain a stable payment per share but the payment per share is not fixed. Dividend yield of the fund does not represent the return of the fund, and past dividend yield does not represent future dividend yield. The dividends are not guaranteed.
